That’s the message I got from John McCain’s latest attack ad that was put out on Youtube 15 minutes before the debate was even over.
Because Barack Obama agrees with John McCain’s policies, this shows that he’s unfit to be President? What does that say about the person who espoused those policies? I’m just trying to understand this here.
What really happened during that debate was that Obama would find a point to agree with John McCain on before going into the points where they differ. Addressing points of agreement and using them as springboards into your own argument is one of those things you learn to do in Speech & Debate, especially if you’re doing LD or Student Congress.
If the premise of the ad isn’t bad enough, the last part is flat out insulting to everyone it’s supposed to appeal to. It takes the rhetorical question, “Is Barack Obama ready to lead?” and then answers that question for you. That’s right. A question where the viewer is led to the answer by the previous 29 seconds is explicitly spelled out because the McCain campaign thinks people are too stupid to come to that conclusion themselves.
Finally, how could John McCain approve a message that was released while he was still on stage debating Barack Obama and contained footage from that very same debate?
