Extremely Lame

Getting angry at the world so you don’t have to!

I am more of a feminist than Sarah Palin.

October 5th, 2008 · No Comments

I just felt the need to say that after her recent mangling of a Madeleine Albright quote that she found on the back of a Starbucks cup.

The original quote is as such:

“There’s a special place reserved in Hell for women who don’t help other women.”

Palin has corrupted that quote into:

“There’s a special place reserved in Hell for women who don’t support other women.” (emphasis mine)

Can you see the difference between those two quotes? One is talking about not helping other women, Palin’s quote attempts to damn people into eternal Hellfire for not voting for her. This coming from the person who believes that victims of rape and incest must be forced to carry children to term and who, as mayor, oversaw that victims of rape were charged for their own rape kits instead of the city paying for them as, you know, part of a criminal investigation.

The fact that she claims to be a progressive or a feminist with these two heinous things staring everyone smack in the face is just insulting.

I only have one X chromosome and I’m more of a feminist than she will ever be. And I’m not even counting things like number of gender studies courses attended at college or whatnot. The fact that I think that it’s extraordinarily fucked up for rape victims to be charged for their own rape kits and the fact that it’s not cool to make victims of rape and incest to carry their children to term automatically makes me more of a feminist than she’ll ever be.

I can’t believe people actually want this woman to be Vice President.
