Extremely Lame

Well, it’s official. Jack Thompson has gone off the deep end. A judge has reviewed a complaint by the Florida Bar Association leveled against anti-video game crusader Jack Thompson and recommends that he be found guilty on 27 of their 31 complaints.

These aren’t minor quibbles here. You should see the file on this sucker, it reads like a demon’s resume.

These are not small offenses, as Judge Tunis recommended a guilty verdict for, among other things, “knowingly making a false statement of material fact or law to a tribunal,” “using means that have no purpose other than to embarrass, delay, or burden a third person,” “engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation,” and “making statements that the lawyer knows to be false or with reckless disregard as to the truth or falsity concerning to the qualifications or integrity of a judge.”

If you’ve followed video game news for the past several years, you’re likely to have heard of him. Calling him “not exactly stable” would be a massive understatement. In a parallel crusade against pornography, he thought it was a good idea to include gay porn it his appeals to the court.

He’s filed so many bogus charges and clogged up the legal system in Florida that he’s not allowed to file anything unless another barred attorney signs them as well.

This is the same guy that asked a game writer, “Why don’t you just molest children directly rather than through Rockstar.  It would be more personal that way.”

No wonder they’re trying to get him disbarred.

You know, now that I think about it, his brand of insanity actually reminds me of someone else’s kind of crazy - Jack Chick.
